'Adventures In Space', the debut album by the mysterious Lifestar off-shoot project, is a retro-sounding album inspired by classic sci-fi themes and scores from cinema and the small screen. A universe of big synths and big tunes, ranging from light-hearted pastiche through to moving, epic instrumental pieces.
Lifestar make epic and exciting electronic music by taking references from popular genres and reassembling them into something new and unique. Their first album, Adventures In Space, is rooted in classic sci-fi music, taking in the cool and the not-so-cool, the downright cheesy and the gorgeously epic, usually all at once. Think Star Trek, Dr Who, War Of The Worlds, Vangelis, early computer games, drum machines and big synths.
